Yet another question

Where do the Palomino fifth wheels fall in the quality arena? Same as all the other big names, better, or worse?

Same question for Coachman.

I know, I know...google. Got that. Would appreciate some feedback from more experienced people.

Not sure about Palomino, but Coachman has several trim/price levels--I would hope that the higher priced ones work better than some reports on the entry level.
Might google for reviews on both, and look up the owners group forums for real results.

My wife and I bought an entry level Coachman, and it was very poorly constructed. But it was very educational. It had hardly any storage space, not very much cabinet space, or closet space. The tanks were all very small, and screws were always coming out of everywhere. But it was very light weight. The axles and wheels were the absolute minimum. I would look else where. Dave-R

In the current ratings book that I have they are right in the middle of the entry level category. Palomino #3 & Coachmen #4. They say Palomino is a solid company, lightweight and affordable. For Coachmen they say good selection and decent quality!

Does the ratings book list any as 'low' 'poor' or some such other term that indicates very cheap construction?

Looked at the palomino and it looked cheap. Cabnit doors appeared to be made out of very thin plywood. But not sure if it was their lower end model.

I don't remember seeing one with a low or poor rating. You need to look at the book to get a sense of how they did there ratings etc. They're are extensive articles on each of the current manufacturers.
