2 1/2" Shaft
Does anyone know of a 2 1/2" replacement shaft for the e2 weight distribution hitch. The sleeve sold at AutoZone was labeled not for use with WDHs.

I know some people are still using a sleeve with a WDH but I bought a 2.5" drop shank from eTrailer for my E2: https://www.etrailer.com/s.aspx?qry=...ribution+Shank

I assume some of the sleeve manufacturers recommend not using a WDH due to the additional slop it adds to an already loose fit of the shank. I use a sleeve with a WDH but I also clamp it tight with a 2-1/2" hitch clamp from Amazon. I'll eventually buy a new 2-1/2" shank but will still use the clamp.

I never intended to pull anything that needed a 2 1/2" receiver so I welded my adapter in and had no issues.

It would be nice if Equalizer would supply their shanks with either 2 or 2 1/2”. I need the 28” length in 2 1/2””. They say tough luck.

Have the adapter sleeve welded to the shank.

Anderson says use a sleeve. They sell one made of aluminum for $20 + shipping.

If it was available I would. That’s the whole point.

Not a bad idea but the aluminum would get pounded out of shape pretty quickly.

I would weld one in but the day after they would become available. What I also dislike is the noise from the hitch with the sleeve and shank rattling. I use one of the heavy duty u bolts available to prevent this and it keeps it quiet. The other issue is the sleeve is a pain to desk with when installing. Otis just one more thing to deal with. In the overall scheme of things this is a minor problem but why Equsl-I-Zer doesn’t make this as a standard part is beyond me. Of course the answer is economics. In my business I like to offer solutions that solve problems not just let money make all my decisions. I must have done domething right because I retired at 55 and can’t spend my money fast enough.

A Reese sleeve is under $11 on Amazon. Weld it to the shank and use a good hitch clamp.
