OP here. My 2008 has never shown a DPE/fuel system or other emission problem. Knock on wood!

I had a 14 3500 Ram one def issue which l cleared myself . My son has owned it for almost 3 years 0 def or dpf problems . Nine model years My 20 has had 0 emissions problems . Not to say they don’t exist and aren’t a problem Just not as bad as some seem to think . Systems are much better than earlier ones

Sooner or later all those old trucks will eventually die. Even the old Ford's with the 7.3 Power Stroke. They will rust out more then a engine problem that can't be fixed. Especially that flexy frame. Or maybe parts will not be easy to get. In a few days it will be 2023 - wow, I can't believe it.

2008 Dodge Cummins Maintenance Questions

This statement is simply un-true. I have 4 older pickups, and not one of them has a speck of rust on them. It just depends how you take care of them.

As far as rust, and replacement parts, i can get anything i need. At least for my fords. Haven’t had to replace anything yet, but i am starting a peoject that i will, but won’t be a problem

Must be an east coast thing or an ocean side city thing.
Lived out on the west coast for 69 years and never had and very rarely ever see a rusted vehicle.
If I see a rusted vehicle it's usually on someone's property with grass growing around it.
