Just acquired a 2012 drw looking for info on what you guys do for tire rotation, the inside tire in rear is steel so do you rotate around and leave the steel showing or buy two new aluminum wheels so it looks better when rotating . I always rotate at 6,000 miles, any advice tks .

on my 3rd DRW and I do not rotate tires. At the most, I will swap them side to side.

I had a 2012 F-450 and got 30,000 miles out of the front. I swapped the front left to right at 10,000 miles.

When I took my truck for new front tires and an alignment at a Ford garage that had diesel section I was told the truck is really difficult to align because if towing the alignment is different than not towing.

My truck had 5,000lbs. on the front axle.

We tow pretty heavy and about 50% of the mileage is with the 5er. We get 35000 to 40000 or so of so out of a set of Michelin AT2's.

The biggest chore is getting a proper alignment on the F350's. I fing that you have to go to an independent truck alignment shop. Ford cannot align them properly.

Also, when towing I run 70 psig on all tires. The 65 psig recommended by Ford is too low.

The right Ford garage with a diesel building acts like a true truck repair shop. My F-450 was one of the smaller trucks there. This place was Ricard Ford in Central Ohio. There are probably only a few Ford garages like this. Maybe Texas and California will have one.

Agree - I would not take it to just any normal Ford garage to get it aligned.

My local Ford garage I would not trust with any diesel truck. They are too small.

I rotate my tires side to side. Ford wants to pop them off the rims to rotate them. My manual says side to side. I only have 13500 miles on my drw F350. My front tire outside edges are getting choppy. I do tow my 13k lb 5th wheel 95% of the time it is out of the garage. I have played with my front tire pressure. I am at 75 psi right now.

You don't have 6 identical wheels? Not to question your mechanical savvy but are you certain you're not looking at "simulators" which are in actuality fancy hubcaps and trim rings?

Mine has 6 steel wheels and chrome simulators. I do a proper 6 wheel rotation every 10 000km-15 000km max. or at every oil, filter and maintenance service. I even do a 6 wheel balance then, not much more work. They wear evenly,no cupping and last a fair amount.

When I had my 97 DRW F350, I rotated the back sets as a set side to side, and the fronts also side to side. Think I got around 40,000 out of the Michelins I was buying at the time. Fronts were more wear prone.
