2017 Chevy 1500 durability

Hi all,
I have a 2017 Chevy 1500 5.3L as a tow vehicle with 59k miles. I'm towing a 7500 gvw TT. This particular vehicle has the AFM (v8 - v4). It has been pretty reliable so far and I used it to tow my travel trailer from New Hampshire to Yellowstone National Park and back and also down to Tennessee and back and it did fine even through the Big Horn mountains. What I'm wondering about is the longevity and durability of the truck. At almost 60,000 miles should this still be a reliable tow vehicle? I'm looking at planning a trip this winter out west to Texas and possibly Arizona. To those of you who have actually had one of these vehicles I would like to hear from you. Thank you very much

With only 59K miles, it should be fine for a long time as long as you have all the scheduled maintenance done.

Check your cargo capacity on the door sticker and trailer tongue weight. My 7000# TT had a tongue weight of 1160# the last time I went over the CAT scale. With a 1/2 ton PU, that will eat most of the cargo capacity leaving very little for passengers and gear in the truck.

If you are over the cargo capacity, the suspension, axles, springs, etc. are taking a beating and will probably have issues long before the engine and drive train does because of mileage.

BTW, I've got 98K miles on my 2016 1500 Ram and plan to use that for a while yet, until I upgrade to the 2500 for the much larger cargo capacity.

first weigh your T/T loaded for the road ready to camp. if its just 2 of you i doubt your close to the 7500 GVWR. when we travel we normally load about 800# that depends on how many pairs of shoes the wife takes. we have put close to 20K towing miles on our 2010 GMC 1500 it now has 120 K on it and runs perfect. i'm just now putting brakes on it and other than that oil changes is all we have had to do, oh i had to replace an oil pressure sensor. and did spark plugs, belts and hoses.
