2017 F350 DRW - What 25-26K Hitch for OEM setup
So I ordered a B&W Companion hitch for the new truck OEM puck systems ...not realizing it's only a 20K rated hitch. So returning and wondering what hitch most are using that works with OEM puck system and has a 25-26K lbs rating?
May need to pull an older Teton that is around 20Kish and would rather error on the save side.

You can get the Reese Elite (that is the system) 25k hitch. There are also adapters to the puck system to let you run rails or other systems. Depends on what you are looking for.

Reese makes the elite which has a 27.5K rating. Curt has the Q25 but it is rated at 24K. There was a thread where one of the air rides is rated at 25K but their website shows it at 20K.

Curt Mfg makes a 24K hitch. www.etrailer.com has a search for hitches that they sell -just put in the truck make and model.

While it isn't the proper thing to do--I towed a 17-18k fiver for 8 years with a 16k rated B&W Companion. They are overbuilt units. I would not hesitate to use the 20k unit, but if it will always be in the back of your mind, then get one of the above-mentioned units.

I have the Reese Elite Hitch that I pull a 28 foot Mobile Suites 5er with. Works great. Truck is a 2015 F 350 DRW, 4WD, 430 rear end, 6.9 Diesel with all heavy duty options including exhaust and engine brakes. This Horse will pull anything you can hook it to! I recommend this Hitch to everyone

Depending on budget there is great airbag hitch that is rated in the 24k and conf. Hensley S3 trailer saver is what I am using pulling a 19k plus 5fer. Drastically improves ride quality in the TV.

Might want to look at a ConfortRide hitch. They go up into 30kish if needed. Add rubber type bags to increase or remove to decrease. They even being used on HDT's. Also worth mentioning, 5th wheel camper average 20% pin weight. That much is needed for stable towing. You will be limited on the weight you mentioned. Pin be too much. My Teton bowed my springs backwards on my 3500 dually. We at 21kish

The Ford optional 5er/gooseneck prep pkg is the Reese Elite install kit, installed at the Ford assembly line. The matching 26.5k Reese Elite 5er hitch is a Ford option. But you can buy the Reese Elite 26.5k 5er hitch from either the Ford dealer or any online discount source. Here it is from eTrailer.com:

I would also agree, that you'll like the "puck" mounting type hitch. Well at least I do.
If you're prone to ever remove your hitch for bed access (I never do) the plate removes easily as does the stand so it's pretty easily managed.
Be well.
