2018 GMC headlight shake
The hid headlights on my truck shake when go over bumps. GMC seems to think this is normal. It is distracting. If yours does this please report it to the NHTSA. If enough people do this then maybe GM will fix them.

I’d take it to a different GMC dealer. I have a 2016 GMC 3500 didn’t notice any issues with the lights. I did however have an issue with an occasional grinding I could feel in the steering colum. It also seemed to react slow when I turned (loose). Of course the dealer “could not repeat “. So I asked to take another 2016 3500 for a ride... big difference. Then I had the service manager take both for a ride... that did it! They found my steering gear box was bad�� magical! All good now.

General Motors let me take it to the Chevy dlr across the street from the GMC dlr and GM tells them its normal. This isnt my first truck or vehicle for that matter with hid lights and none of them have done what this does.

If you already tried the dealer, just maybe you could check it yourself. Open the hood and see if there is anything obvious like a loose headlight assembly. Maybe it is as simple as tightening a bolt.

Last chevy i fooled with the headlights on had a retainer clip that held in the headlight assemblies. If they still use a remotely similar design, i can see where a person could miss a clip and have some shake. This could be worth looking into.

A guy in the thread below solved his problem by switching out the headlight bulbs. Not a cheap fix, but worth looking into to see if others had similar results.

That sounds like it could be your problem. Take the TSB number to your dealer or ask them to look up any TSB on headlight issues.
That was a good really good news.

I wonder if you could rotate the bulb 90 degrees to take the arc out of the primary plane of vibration, without changing the beam pattern.

The tsb explains why they think its normal. Van, that is a great idea if it will work. They closed the ticket i had with customer engagement as a dissatisfied customer and after i posted on Facebook asking others to report to NHSTA they are opening the ticket back up.

I have 2018 denial 1 ton . It's the projection bulb my my duramax flickers when driving on bumpy .

I just bought a 2018 GMC 3500 Denali in October. Believe it was built in April. Haven't noticed any issues but I've have very limited driving at night and that was on pretty good paved roads. I'll check it when I get home.

No shaking or vibration in mine. At least none that I could see. Did this problem show up right from the start of after some miles maybe shook something loose.

Always done it. Just more distracting now with more darkness to drive in. I am not giving up on getting this fixed. I cant seem to get used to it and it takes my eyes away from the road everytime. I am going to try and follow up with NHTSA and see if they will lean on GM to fix this.

Mine dose not flick in bright and only on certain roads like the stretch of paved remote road to my house . It's on going complaint from l5p owners
