Smile 2020 Silverado 2500HD with builtin TPMS for Trailer

We have a new 2020 Silverado with Advanced Trailing System, so it has a tpms for the truck tires and you can add sensors to the trailer. The onboard screen shows the trailer monitor, checklist before you drive, etc. Here's the catch, I don't seem to be able to find out if a 2500 uses the sensors listed on the Chevrolet Accessories page. So far I only see the sensors for a 1500. Dealers are somewhat clueless as to how this system works since its new. Making me wonder if people are using separate TPMS systems for their trailer. Any opinions/assistance welcome. Anyone using this system successfully?

There is not much on YouTube. Try this video to see if it helps. At about the 50 second mark in the video they touch on the TPMS. You have to attach a sensor to your trailer wheels / tires from what I watched.

Good luck

Here is the short video.

I have a 2020 HD with the tpms it works great shows tire pressure and temperatures. I ordered 4 withe the truck because they were cheaper from the factory. They are gm 433 MHz used on most gm vehicles. Get them on line they are too expensive at the dealer.

I have 4 sitting in my glove box, but have not had them installed yet. I need to figure that out as well as connecting the camera system.

Be aware if you try to install them on a Fifth Wheel as the stem is larger than what you get from GM. That is because the 5th wheel tires are higher pressure tires.

Yes there are two size trailer wheel stems. I read on the gm forum some guys found adapters to use. I have a 40 Ď Raptor toy hauler and they fit my wheels however they only read to 100 psi. Still work because if I see them below 100 l know there is a problem. They also read temp so if one tire is hotter than the others it could be a problem
