I may have missed it but is the v10 dead?
Earlier predictions were the new 7.3 gas would replace the 6.2 v8 and the v10.

Thanks for your report.

"The big differences are under the hood. First, the existing 6.2L V8 continues with a 6-speed automatic transmission for the base trucks. You can opt for the new 10-speed automatic transmission for the 6.2L V8, the all-new 7.3L V8, and the updated 3rd-generation 6.7L Power Stroke turbo-diesel V8. This is a total of four powertrain combinations."

That's just what TFL says though so who knows

Heading towards the 80K price point I'd assume... I have an '06 F250 with the feared 6.DOH Power Stroke..185000 trouble free miles.. You just need to keep up on the maintenance.

I wouldn’t mind seeing, say, a 5.0L Ecoboost— it’d be a great option for the occasional towing set.

My understanding is the V10 is dead. Not sure about the 6.2.

The 7.3 Godzilla vs the 6.2 Boss???

The Ford Superduty is at the top of my list for pulling 30 foot, 7500lb, (give or take) toy hauler. I was thinking the diesel would be worth it for fuel economy and performance but depending on the price difference, the 7.3 gas engine might be a better fit.

You can pull a 7,500 lb. Toy Hauler with the current F-250 with the 6.2 litre engine. No need to wait for the 2020.

The 2019 F-250 6.2 is a very nice solid truck.

7,500 is probably on the low side and I want the ability to tow more in the future but your point is valid and I am considering the 6.2 as well. If the 7.3 paired to a 10 speed gearbox can split the difference between the 6.2 and diesel for torque, fuel economy and price, it will definitely top my list. From the video, the 7.3 is designed with reliability as a priority.

The 6.2 in my F250 tows my 6500lb 30ft TT well. Hunts a bit between 5th and 6th at times on the freeway and can get to screaming on the steep grades to stay where it's making power. Steep grades is where it gets a real work out. The 7.3 with a 10 speed would be very usable for me. I'd like the forced induction of a diesel engine for higher elivation work but I don't do it enough to justify the cost.

Raider - agree, that 7.3 litre gas engine is appealing, especially when teamed with the 10 speed transmission. But the current 2019 6.2 gas engine I would think would be good to 12,000lbs.

I will be interested in hearing the torque of the new 7.3 gasser / 10 speed. I will also be interested if the wheelbase is increased and if so how much.

The V10 has only been in production for the F53/E350/450 for several years now. It was dropped from most of the F series after 2010 and continued in F550/650/F53/E350/450 until the end of the 2017 year. The V10 production line, according to the video is to be retooled for the 7.3L V8. This engine has a lot of good things going for it. It is a very conservative design but lots of good high tech features.

The new GM 6.6L gas, is totally replacing the 6.0 and does things I do not care for. Ford is using port injection, well proven and easy to implement, while GM is going with direct injection which, while well proven in diesels, has its share of problems with them, and I can see those problems (short life of injectors) in the 6.6L also. Port injectors just NEVER wear out, they just run and run.
