205 vs 215 tires load range D

I have a 22 keystone bullet 250bhs came with 205-75-14 load c rainer st . Have about 5k miles on them last trip out had a puncture . For peace of mind thinking of swapping them out to a load range D 215-75r14 or 205-75-14 . I'm seeing a extra 100-150lb per tire load rating . I do run a tpms as well

Looking at atturo st300, carlisle radial trail, or national roadmax st all seem to have good reviews .

The only ST tires I would recommend for rv trailers is a Provider ST or Carlisle HD or Goodyear Endurance ....in that order.
Carlisle makes other ST tire lines but the HD line is the better of all their other lines.

These are the weight numbers on the TT mentioned.
Weight

Dry Weight
5,459 lbs.

Payload Capacity
1,941 lbs.

GVWR
7,400 lbs.

Hitch Weight
715 lbs.

The unit is also 30 feet long.

The tires on the RV are woefully inadequate.
I'd go with the Carlisle HD in 215D at least.

Yes, the Provider STs are made by Taskmaster, and are a great choice! My FW came with these premium tires OEM, and I used them for 8 years, before buying the same to replace.

Finding a load range e tire in 14" will be a challenge if it's even possible. Check the tire clearance and see if you can replace the rims and tires with a 15" wheel and tire. Many stores sell pre-mounted 14 and 15s. Go to the store and compare. If the 15 is 2" taller, it will give you a 1" increase in ride height and the tires will be 2" closer together. You should have about 2" of clearance between the tires.

loaded weight on those tires would appear to be under 1,700 lbs max so a 215/75/14 LR D would seem to be more than adequate.

Your OEM C tire is a 50 psi rated tire vs a D tire at 65 psi. To gain the extra load per tire your wanting requires them to be at 65 psi max sidewall pressure.
Some rv folks over tire their tires on their trailer with derated tire pressures....which isn't the best idea.
Tireman9 has lots reading on best psi for tires on trailers vs tires on other vehicles.

I have had great luck with 4 set of Maxxis 8008 trailer tires. Steel belted , higher then average speed limit, zero failer and not dry rotted at 6 years old. I run them for 6 years and trash them.

Yea last trip out I had a tounge weight of 780 and a total trailer weight of 6200lbs .
I'm stuck between going to 215-75r14 or jumping up to a 205-75r15 in range d .
From floor to top of tire I have 4.5 inches and in-between I have 7 inches so ethier should clear no problem

I have 2 new 20575r14s load range D that came on my Travel trailer if you’re in central cal. I went to 225/75r15 load range e on my single axle. Surprisingly the rims my friend gave me were rated to 2880 with a 5 on 4.5 pattern. Thought that was only for 6 bolts and 5 on 5. I wanted more ground clearance but also more room for error with a single axle.

I highly recommend any tire not made in China. Many of those beloved tires above came from there.

The Maxxis M8008 Plus may be the only ST tire available in 14 inch sizes. And that's the one to go with.

ran the maxxis' when it first came out on a 32ft bp toy hauler, awesome tire. I ran Sailuns on my raptor 5th wheel as well, another great tire but in 16". I would always go with the highest load rating i could afford.
