377 mbs hitch question & short bed truck

I have a Grand Design 377mbs & I am in the process of ordering a new Ford 350 srw 12400 long bed with factory fifth wheel prep. The truck will not be in for 8 - 12 weeks & obviously I want to use the RV.

I like the look of the B&W Companion and this will go in my new truck. I currently have a 2014 Dodge Ram 3500 and need to install a fifth in this to bring it home and use it for a few shorter trips until the new truck arrives, I really don't want to purchase a slider and would rather just buy the companion and be done with it.

The question is does anyone have any experience with this RV model or similar or a B&W companion or similar with a short bed truck & no slider.

I know there will be limitations and anticipate that I will probably not be able to go much past 75 or 80 deg.

The truck will pull & stop no problem & I understand I will be right at max payload so will just load lightly until the new truck arrives.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Nick

Youll be over as youll be looking 2k or more empty hitch weight . looking at the standard shape nose. Turning will be really restricted.

I pulled with a ram 3500 Mega cab using a B&W slider. I have a Sierra 375 RKS that is 41 Ft long. It has the rounded nose. I had to use my slider 2 times in 2 years pulling my camper. I did move my B&W hitch to my F350 long bed. I dont use the slider but I did not want to spend the money for a new hitch. Just watch when you make a tight turn. I was at 75 degrees or so when I had to slide my hitch. I always had my DW get out and watch the truck in a tight turn. The B&W companion is a great hitch.

Nowhere near being over GVWR with a 3500 SRW having a near 4,000# payload.

maybe on a strip down work truck but a loaded 3500 that payload is dwindling fast.

And those numbers are just ratings. if that were the case and real they would be towing the New Horizons or the Spacecraft or Teton with one. And NO one does. there hauling with 550 or better most are MDT or HDT. 2020 specs show a 350 diesel with 6k payload some a little more. Hook up to a heavy weight rv and headlights are spotlights. Only my opinion

LOL!
That 377MBS has a dry hitch of 2,750#, our Copper Canyon has a 2,700# set pin and towed level and fine without bags with a 2001 Ram 2500!
Even fully loaded at 22% pin 3,700#, but OP is only pulling home.

I have no idea why you are comparing a 16k gvw grand design with a 22k gvw spacecraft when discussing tow vehicles.
