Advice welcomed
Hi Folks,
We are planning to drive our 36ft gasser (we are newbies) from the Gulf Coast all the way to Montana in 2 weeks. Will pull a small vehicle w Blue Ox system but here is the ?
I need to tow a vehicle and carry my moped on a black widow carrier inserted into an upper receiver.
Most dual receivers only have a 400lb tongue weight rating and between the blue ox bar (55lbs) the black widow carrier (36lbs) Moped (200lbs) I am concerned that I need a dual receiver rated to at least 500lbs to allow for contingencies (most I find are rated to 400lbs). Also I want to avoid a drop between the 2 receivers of more than 3 or 4" otherwise the Blue Ox (which will be below the scooter) may come too close to the road surface etc.
I found a Gen-Y drop hitch receiver which would probably work but was curious to see if you guys have any real time advice.
Appreciate your input

Can you install a hitch on the towed vehicle and haul the moped there?

Unfortunately the tow vehicle is a mini and only hitch available has a 200lb rating.

Just an FYI. These are rated at 500# tongue weight. That being said, Ive bent 2 of them pulling trailers. They work fine with the towbar but I’m not adding a 200# bike to it. Im not sure I would trust the weld on top without a gusset. (I’m a welder by trade).

Drop Hitch receiver
May be able to use a Gen Y drop hitch receiver. Only issue just found now (never ending) is that the carrier may be too long and interfere w ladder coming off coach roof

YEP, looks like the possibility of a lot of leverage there.
