All trailer lights except tail/clearance lights work
I have a cargo trailer with the 4 pin connector. All the lights work except the tail and clearance lights. The tow vehicles lights are on when checking.
Brake, turn signals, hazard all OK.
Ideas?

Sounds like you #2 pin is not working, if you have a voltmeter measure the power between the #2 pin and ground on the vehicle if you have power there then the problem will be on the trailer, it is probably just a loose wire.
googlr "4 pin trailer plug wiring diagram", it will show you what pin it what, the #2 pin is should be brown.

I had the same issue, mine was easy to correct once I found the correct fuse. Yes, it was burned out from a short in an old boat trailer that I towed.
A few months later I tried my travel trailer and no running lights. Replaced the fuse and it worked.
If you tow other trailers maybe the same thing happened to you.
Good luck.

Yup. Start at the fuse box. Nowadays most tow vehicles use dedicated fused circuits for trailer lighting. This way a problem in the trailer does not take out the tow vehicle lighting as well if there is a short.

I had a dedicated fuse just for the running lights on the trailer. You will need the owners manual fuse box diagram and a fuse puller.
Good luck

RMD - you able to get all the lights working? If so, what was the problem?

Not yet. The truck and trailer are not mine; trying to help a friend out.
The trailer was plugged into another truck and the tail lights work so this points to the fuse idea in the original truck. He just bought the original truck (used) so it is likely the fuse.
When I get some fuses I'll let you know.

Agree, that points to a bad fuse in the original truck. Easy fix once you guys figure out the right fuse.

Sorry for the delay but this actually got fixed a few days ago.
It was the fuse.
Thanks for the help.
