Andersen wd hitch.

Looking for some real world feedback from Andersen users. Really don’t need a wd hitch but the wind factor has me thinking about adding this hitch specially to my set up. Really like the adjustability of it as my truck has very little squat ( 1 ton with a 8k 26 ft trailer) my conventional hitch and single friction bar worked well for the last trailer but an extra 7 feet of sail and constant wind has me wondering.

I was seriously considering an Andersen, but for like $30 more I
got a Blue Ox SwayPro 1500, which seems like a waaay better hitch.

Not a fan, have had been fortunate enough to have or try out most of the hitches. The Andersen is the exception. Not looking to go back to a bar style hitch or a Hensley.

We have been using an Andersen for about 6 years now. We tow an 8900 lb 32’ travel trailer with 3500 SRW truck. Guessing I’d be close to 25,000 miles using it. For me the weight of the hitch was important as my shoulders were bothering me and the heavy hitch heads weren’t helping. I can’t say it does a better job of sway control than the other hitches but it does it without the noise often associated with bar style hitches. My wife says she found that it eliminated the porpoising she often felt when on roads with frequent frost heaves or similar surface conditions. For the most part it’s easy to hookup but occasionally when you’re at a sharp angle it can be a bit of a pain but once you’ve done a few times you figure it out.
The only problems I have encountered is the head not tracking properly but Andersens resolved it with a new head. My experience with their customer service has been excellent as they were quick to take care of the problem.
I’ve been happy with the hitch. It’s not difficult to install and it’s easy to hitch and unhitch. It’s easy to store as well and I can carry it easily in one hand.
I’m happy with it.

We've had ours across two trailer and two tow vehicles for a span of 6 yrs and 20k+ miles and wouldn't trade it for any other hitch.
