Just wondering how big the new display screens can get. I am seeing Ford, and Toyota are using 12" and 14" inch display. Now interesting while Ram uses a 12" screen vertically the Ford uses it horizontally. I personally like it a little better horizontally.

My thoughts after owning a 7" or 8" screen in my 2017 truck, how in the heck are you going to be able to keep fingerprints off that 12" screen?

I have the 8" now in a 2016 F150 but waiting for a build date on the 12" screen (F350), since April. They have aftermarket screen protectors with anti fingerprint properties available. I'll go without and see how it goes. I'll just keep a microfiber towel available to wipe it down

I will look into that anti finger print screen protector. I use a cell phone spray cleaner and micro fiber cloth now on my current smaller old fashion screen that I thought was big enough.

I watched a few videos on the 2022 Ford trucks - looks to me the only difference is the bigger screen.

Anyone one know of other interior changes?

Just wait.....
With Super Cruise Control they will start putting 32" maybe even 50" Screens

I dunno, Cadillac has or will soon have something like a 50" screen. Of course, the "screen" is basically the entire dashboard left to right. We aren't driving vehicles anymore. I could say we are driving computers, or I could say computers are driving us.

That's the only change. They're speculating 2023 might change.

Yep. Lots of fingerprints since a lot of functions previously controlled by knobs & buttons now require you to take your eyes off of the road to touch a spot on a screen. This is stuffed down our throats as High Tech, when in reality it is a cost reduction. Just like the remote key fob is cheaper than a tumbler lock for the ignition. Electronic control from a touch screen are cheaper than individual mechanical controls.

Of course, some of the screen information is nice but I like to be able to reach for the memorized location of a knob or button and I do admit that some of these functions have migrated to the steering wheel.

Mercedes already has the MBUX display which goes from door panel to door panel. Personally, my zero inch display works perfectly for me in my truck. Hasn't needed to be re-flashed yet. Talk about being at the mercy of the dealers.

I guess door panel to door panel will be the max they can go. I saw a Cadalac commerical and I think they have the same big futuristic screen as MB.

Is it just me or why would you want something with more light blaring at you at night? I have to turn down the dash brightness when driving at night. I can't imagine having 12"-14" of more lights in my sight.

It's not just you. Some of the tablets in these cars drive me nuts on late day road tests. right now it's getting dark at 4:15PM. It kills me when I need to go down a dark country road at 5PM and the display basically blinds me.

I hope the one in my GFs Bolt EUV (on order) won't be obnoxious.

I remember picking up my 2011 GMC many years ago, driving from TX to my place in Quebec. I had to turn down the dash lights a lot, it was way brighter than the old 1994 Chevy.

I’m on my 2nd RAM with the 12” display and I love it. We also own a Tesla, so I guess I’m just used to having a large display in the vehicle now. I do appreciate manual buttons/switches for some things though, I am not looking forward to when those fully go away.
