I watched all of the Banks videos on the differential covers (he loves to call them "diff" covers, I do not) anyhow, I had just fallen for the hype of the flat backs a few months earlier and had about 3000 miles on a Mag Hytec. After the first video, I ordered the Chrysler finned aluminum cover (which is made by AAM who makes the axle) and removed the Mag Hytec.
For me, it was a lot of work to pull the cover, because the wheel hub bearings are supposed to be greased and I knew the high fluid level of the Mag Hytec had washed all of the grease from the bearings. So I pulled the brake calipers, rotors, hugs and cleaned and repacked the bearings per the Dodge shop manual, and installed new seals and put it all back together.
It was a year later when Banks finally came out with his, and I am not changing it again. Banks does lots of research and testing before releasing a product, so I am sure it is all it is claimed to be, and not that much more expensive than the AAM cover. If you haven't seen the videos, watch them, there are several, well worth the time.
