Charge a truck battery through the trailer/truck plug

The wife and I are camping this weekend up in the San Bernadino mountains and this afternoon we were going to head into town only to find the truck battery is dead. We aren't leaving until Monday morning and I am wondering if it is possible to charge the truck batteries if I keep the trailer and truck hooked up through the bumper plug?

Currently the trailer is plugged in the camp grid (30 amp) and the truck is a Ram 2500 diesel with dual batteries. Plan B is to call AAA on Monday.

You may need the key on to close any relay in the charge line. If its a diode, not going to work.

Hook it up, wait an hour and see if it charged up, even a little.

In a pinch, use the tt battery to jumpstart the rig? Any neighbors that could give you a jump? Probably have to replace the batteries in the rig...get them tested.

Thanks for the tip. Left the ignition on for about an hour and turned the key and the truck started right up.

Regarding the battery connect from the other post, I read up that option when I get home.

Thanks Everybody...
