Coincidentally I test drove a new Colorado V6 today. That's a very strong engine.

TFLTruck did a comparison of the diesel and gas engine for towing. Their results were basically that the diesel towed better but the higher purchase price and fuel price negated the improvement.

If you can look for a used Colorado or canyon diesel it would be worth a look.

I was happy with the used price.

Make sure you check the payloads on these to make sure they are enough for your tongue weight, cargo and passengers. They are somewhat on the low side.

On my own it 1600 pounds payload and 900 hitch weight.

7600 max tow capacity

So not sure how that’s low [emoji848]

I drove the diesel Colorado with GDE tune. It eliminated the lag and was much more responsive. Plus they dyno a much welcomed extra 40 HP & 70 TQ. (220 HP 440 TQ conversion) Not fast but much more enjoyable to drive not to mention to tow with. Claim an extra 3 mpg. Easy 30 MPG Hwy / Avg 15 towing your TT at 65. Diesel longevity.

Test drive it and the Ram Ecodiesel. The Ram has the TT stability advantage of a lil wider & longer wheelbase. I’d say the new 3.0 liter turbo diesel Ford but they are only available in upper trims priced in the stratosphere.

Depends on how it's equipped. Some are lower than 1200#. Add more options, lower the payload.
