Curt 16047 Q24 install on 2014 RAM 3500 SLT 4x4, 8' Bed

Trying to install my Curt 16047, Q24 on OEM mounts but I'm having a problem removing the ball hitch in the middle of the bed. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

Sometimes dirt and debris gets crammed into the mounting hole and removing the ball can be quite difficult. I would use a spray lubricant to soak the ball to help release it from the mounting hole.

Which bed mount is this ball hitch.....??
Hide-A-Goose (handle/lever in drivers side wheel well that has to be pulled and locked back to release pin)

B&W also uses a handle/lever to release pin..drivers wheel well

Other brands made...same hidden handle/lever needs pulled to release pin

Sometimes they get installed backwards and handle ends up in passenger side wheel well

Your ball mount looks closer to Hide-A -Goose style due to 'shoulder' that sticks up thru bed

Handle/lever may have gotten broken off.
Need to crawl up under bed and see how it is mounted and if you can grasp pin to pull it sideways out of ball (and lock it back so ball can be pulled up out of bed)

The ball is held in bed by a pin......that pin has be to retracted to release ball

Old Biscuit,
Singing the praises of YouTube. Found a segment on YouTube for a RAM specific Draw Tite Hide A Goose underbed gooseneck trailer hitch on a 2016 RAM 2500. Ball removal is a breeze with the unlocking mechanism in the ball itself. Ingenious!
Thanks for your help.

The ball has inconspicuous "latches" on either side and over the top (see pic). According to a video using a new hitch to demo, one can easily use ur thumb and index finger to lift these, turn 90* and lift. Unfortunately, this ball apparently has some debris/corrosion so the latches don't budge. My friend will try some penetrating oil and try again.
Thanks.
Lloyd
