The solution to the wobble is to turn on the power steering module.
For whatever reason, the Cherokee has a problem when being flat towed and hitting a bumpy road because of the electric power steering
Rather than actually fixing the problem, they changed the manual which now says you need the special cable harness.
This is installed in the car which includes a toggle switch in the console, and you also insert a fuse into a fuse holder under the hood.
Very Micky Mouse. Cost is $125 for the harness.
Myself and a few other folks have installed the cable using relays instead of switches, so at least it goes into tow mode automatically...you still must put the transfer case into neutral.
This is the one big disappointment I have for towing...AND the poor operation of the 9 speed transmission.
Other than that, it is a good vehicle.
Regards,
Dan
