Eaz Lift R3 vs Eazy Lift TR3 -- which to buy?

Need your help deciding on a weight hitch with sway control!!!

Eaz Lift R3 vs Eaz Lift TR3 -- which to buy?

They both seem to have sway control turned on my a allen wrench and brake pad system. R3 uses top loading bars and the TR3 seems to use straight bars (that you do NOT have to raise camper and tow vehicle up to push in.

TR3 max weight is 600lb tounge and 6000lb max weight.
R3 is the same.

----

Camper Specs
2700lbs dry - travel trailer
4750 max weight / average probably closer to 3500-4000lbs
Estimated tounge weight is between 400 to 500lbs.

Towing with small SUV -- 08 GMC Envoy
with 5200lb tow capacity.

I had the R3's on my Rockwood TT when I owned it, weight was double your's and towed with my RAM 2500 Cummins, never an issue with sway, or uneaven tire wear, front or back. Not a fan of how hard they are to put on and off, if you don't understand how they work, you can really hurt yourself. But other than that, they worked great!

Doing some research shows the TR3, and the R3 are both rated up to 1,000 lb tongue weight and 10,000 lbs max trailer weight.

From your earlier posts you stated the SUV doesn’t sag much, and sits pretty level. This is a little suspicious, and thinking you may not have enough tongue weight.

Either one would work with 400 lb bars. The TR3 is a little more error proof as the bars don’t need to be properly seated like the R3.

Both need a tool to raise the bars, or the use of the trailer Jack.

Been using the R3 now for 6 years, and it’s easy to install the bars. As you swing the bars back towards the truck they drop in with ease. Love the adjustable sway control.

Thinking I would go with the TR3, with the 400 lb bars, and verify you have enough tongue weight.

Camco has great customer service and a call into them before ordering may also have some benefit.
