It's at least 10 inches to a foot of the ground. I don't travel anywhere I would need to go over something that high

You don't have to have the bars perfectly parallel to the L brackets. Call EQ and tell them what you got going on. I had the same problem when I was using an EQ. The EQ tech guy said that I could be slight out of parallel and still get enough friction. I can't remember the exact situation is why I say call em.
FWIW you front fender number looks great.

According to the equalizer manual the very last thing you tighten up is the L brackets. With everything hooked up the bars will move the brackets enough for the bars to lay flat on the brackets and then you tighten them up. Dan

I actually tack welded my L brackets to the a frame. They moved around too much.

That's a good idea

So the L brackets aren't necessarily supposed to be level? If they are tightened last, I would think they would be however the bars are laying so that the bar lays flat on the bracket, is that correct?

So I lowered the L brackets so it's close to being level but it didn't take much to get the bars on which is a first but it towed great! Just wondering if I should move the bars up to put more weight back on the trailer to get a better tow. Front fender still looked good and front of the trailer was an inch lower than the front. Also concerned about putting too much pressure on the hitch (see my other thread about cracked collar) if I was to raise the bars up.

Your help is appreciated!

Bars weren't super easy as I had to pry them up but not super hard like I'm used to

Sorry guys, been real busy with the yard work. After I had the bars level with the L brackets I drilled and tapped a set screw. They do like to move around some. Dan
