Thank you and please don’t get mad when I ask you why with the 1200 vs the 1000? I read where that heavyweight bars will make sway and mess up the camper frame? I just like to put it in my knowledge bank so If so one asked why I can help him. Thanks again

Well camper place called and said they sold my 1200 and all they can get is 1000 now. 1200 2-3 weeks out. They sold the 1200 cause I can use the 1000.

Yes, you can use the 1000. I didn't see your GVWR for the trailer as 7355, so 1k bars are totally fine.

7355 x .15 is 1103, that is why I suggested the 1200lb bars. Especially since you weighed it already as configured for a trip and you came up with less than 1000lb tongue weight.

Good Luck with it.

Update

Went to the dealership today and got 1200 put on. They put the 1000 and didn’t give me enough on the front axle. So went with the 1200. Camper 3/8 from being level. Pulls fine but 65 or so it wants to dance some.

Can give a bit more detail about it wanting to “dance”? The truck, trailer or both? If I put just a bit too much tension on the WDH the truck will develop a slight tendency to wander. You can try to remove a washer or drop the frame brackets a hole and see if it goes away.

The truck is an 250 crew cab 4x4 6.7 diesel. Camper is 25rk vibe hitch weight roughly 835 loaded. I have 7 washer on it now. 6 washers will raise the front up and make it light. Dance as when I got on the interstate and get above 60 the truck and camper will more around as one unit. Just feels like both units wants to move all over the road. Don’t know if it’s just wind. This is my 1st single wheel diesel. Other trucks been 350 dually. Thank you!! Any input will be great full. Oh 1200 bars. They had 1000 but sold them and gave me these. The dealership is something man. Tell me to use 1200 it be fine then tell me I need 1000 and then sale my bars by the time I get there or they call me and say they missed placed them. Lol

You’re using too much tension. Drop back to 4 or 5 washers. Your truck is front heavy so you don’t need to restore all that weight back to the front. I use 4 washer on mine and I have 1000lbs TW and remove 300lbs off the front axle. Even then the front axle weight is still over 4100lbs and steering is not a problem. Give it try and report back the results.
