Equalizer Hitch Tips/Advise needed.
I've hitched/unhitched my Equalizer Hitch about 6 times now and I'm having some trouble with un-hitching. One of the arms requires a lot of muscle and/or leveraging to get off.
I noticed that it isn't that the arm is getting held in place by the 'L' bracket. It is that the part the arm goes into is difficult to move.
Any suggestions?

How are you performing this task? Do you have a electric hitch?
Are you raising the trailer up while connected to your vehicle?

I would always have my driver side be more difficult than the passenger side. Worked for me to raise the tongue up more than you think is necessary

Just to be clear. Are you raising it up as much as 6-9"?

Mine is the exact same way, wondered if something was slightly bent, but maybe it's supposed to be that way?

Ha well maybe it's supposed to be like that then. I followed the directions thoroughly and took about an hour to set it up so I'm positive it was installed and set correctly. I think the OP just needs to raise the tongue up about 3in more and it'll slide right off.

Yes. It isn't the lifting that appears to be the issue.
The problem side is the passenger side. To get it off the most recent time, I removed the pin for holding the bar to the hitch/ball, then wiggle the bar out and pulling. It was not easy.

Thanks - I'll play with the height to see if that helps. It is a new unit so that might be part of the issue.
I like the it otherwise.

My buddy raises his trailer up probably a good foot. They come off easily just using his hand.

Are you using a snipe (pipe) to leverage the bracket? If so maybe some wd-40 is needed to loosen it up a bit...If its a used trailer the dealers usually spraypaint around the hitch area which could be making things tight.

Are you parked on the level or parked on the street next to the curb. If you are next to the curb you are not level. One side will always be different. The high side will be tighter. Use your jack to go higher.
