Calm down buddy, If I get the Expedition El 2011/12 4wd which has a wheelbase of 131'' and can tow 8900 with the HD package and I'll make sure I get the 3.73 gear version. I can go ahead and settle for a small trailer at around 30'. I'll get a good weight distribution hitch and I'll be golden.

Maybe you should work on your manners and actually try and help people with knowledge, not insult.

Not helpful - thought you promised no comment in your earlier post?

Trigger, that longer wheelbase should help stability. I'd figure how much your gear and people in the SUV will weigh, deduct that from your available payload to see what is left for towing the trailer. I still think you'd be better with the excursion or 2500 suburban. More safety margin.

Trigger,
Looks like you're left with making your own decision on whether to do this with an Expy EL/Suburban. Personally, I don't think you're going to like it if your plan is to load the truck with people while towing. Later models with 6sp autos and you will need to immediately put LT tires on if it has p-metric tires. Then a Hensley Arrow or ProPride hitch.
Good luck. If you go ahead with this type setup, let us know how it works for you.
Joe

If not a 2500 Suburban or Excursion, what about a 1 ton Van?
