...assuming you mean the new 7.3 (2020+) "Godzilla", we've ordered one but haven't received it yet....but I have done a ton of research on it and you should have no issue with an ORV 24RKS. The 7.3 obviously doesn't have the power that the 6.7 Powerstroke does but it has decent power, good torque at lower rpms and the 10spd increases towing performance as well. For a trailer with a max GVWR or 9,995 lbs, I'd suggest it's more than enough.....better than any gas truck in the past or present.
Don't know if you've seen this?

You might want to talk to Tim T as he had a 7.3 gas and just bought a 6.7 F-450 (see this thread: https://www.irv2.com/forums/f45/18-m...er-613003.html ). I would point out though that his trailer is significantly larger than yours with a 16,000 lb GVWR and more wind resistance.

I've got a 2022 F350 CCSB SRW with the 7.3. I've towed both my 7x25' v nose trailer loaded with either snowmobiles and sxs's, and it tows great. 10.5 mpg with the cruise set at 72. I also tow my 2016 cougar 28db 5th wheel. Tows great, same 10.5 mpg. I've got around 42,000 on the truck, and it's been flawless. Average 13.5 around town, 16.5 on highway. I've got the 3.73 gears and run 285/75/18 (35x12.5) tires.

Lol - the old Ford 7.3 diesel could not tow. That engine was junk IMHO as far as power.

Nope - but my friend did. Said it took a long time to get going. Sure he could work on it himself but said it was not like the modern Ram diesel he bought.
Oh - the frame was welded back together in two places.

I guess that's why they are still bringing so much money in the used market.
I never had a problem with mine and it towed a 14K GVWR 5er just fine.

I think people like them because the can work on them. Wow - it can tow a 14,000lb 5th wheel. That amazes me.
Oh - you could not hear the radio because the engine was making too much noise. Oh, you could not hear yourself taking outside close to a running truck.
That that 7.3 defined a clicking and clacking engine.
My friends truck was a F-250 from either 1997 or 1999 - I forget exactly what year it was. My friend was a welder so he could fix the frame that he broke twice plowing snow.

I had 3 of them, the 1st one was n/a and was slow but the ps had decent power. Grossed over 33k lbs a few times pulling a gooseneck. Noise can be redefined by the early Cummins in Dodge pickups. If you never owned one then you really don’t know.

damn straight. He’s just rattling, again. I’ve had 4 of those. Great engines that did a good job. Good fuel milage, with good longevity, easy to work on with few to no recalls.

I have a 2020 F350 SRW Lariat with the 7.3L engine and love it, as do several other people I know. My current trailer is smaller/lighter than the 24RKS, but I’ve been thinking about upgrading it to something similar/maybe a little shorter (preferably under 10,000 lbs but have been looking at the AF 24R). My tongue weight is only around 750 lbs (my trailer is small) and last summer when I weighed the rig, the truck had 2,000 lbs of payload left. At least one of my friends travels with a larger, heavier trailer than mine, one that has a tongue weight of close to 1200 lbs and is very happy with the performance. So I don’t expect to have a problem going with a longer, heavier trailer than what I have now.
