GPS Odometer vs one that counts tire rotations

With my tuner I can adjust the calibration of the odometer to essentially perfect by changing the tire size value. I usually tweak it once or twice as the tires wear out. I would say that a properly calibrated odometer is at least as accurate and likely more accurate than a GPS odometer.

My GPS looses signal or partially looses signal often. When it does it won't even show an estimated elevation or speed. Of course it depends on the software and algorithms in the gps. The software is based on assumptions. On a flat prairie with no trees or obstructing mountains GPS is likely pretty solid.
