Flex Air Pin Box

I am trying to dial in my new pin box. I know every truck & trailer is different but what is a good starting point? So far I have only put about 25-30lbs of air in the bag. That seemed to help but for $1,200 I was expecting more. Taking a short trip today & thought I would put about 50-60lbs. in it & try that. Then I can always lower at a fuel stop if need be.

There should be a line on the shock to fill the air bag up to. On my 17,000LB toy hauler it takes 80psi to get there.

Yeah the new ones are not marked like the old ones. It's stamped into the metal & painted over. The first time I filled to that line. Then after I drove it & it bounced around a few times it was showing above the line. I will try just below that line this next time around & see what it does. Thanks

The air pressure that you have filled to seems really low in my opinion.

I adjust my TraiAir pin box ever trip, do to the changing weight and day time temps. We usually pack different if we are going only for a week vs going for a month so, the trailer weight is different. Also if I am pulling in the mountains the air bag needs to be adjust or if we are pulling in the spring/fall or summer. Ambient temps are different so, the bag and the shock is adjusted to the line on the decal.

Some people have installed an air gage that is permanently attached to the air bag and fill to what the standard pressure that they have recorded. They use that pressure to achieve a good ride with the truck and trailer.
