Pretty low payload. F250 without camper package and HD front springs?

The 7.3 was not towing so it felt like my 2017 6.2. I could not tell the difference to be honest. Again, not towing.

Inventory was very low.

Did you ask about the $12,188?

Yes, the $12,188 would come off MSRP. I did not ask about the financing.

A failed to mention the 10 speed had a few hiccups, meaning clunks, I think between 2 and 3 as I slowed down.

This truck just was delivered and had a build date on 10/20. So the computer has not learned any driver.

If they had the right truck, White F-350 7.3 with 2WD locking rear diff and 5th wheel prep I would have a new truck today.

I do however want to reiterate the inventory was low.

Did the dealer mention that the discount was off the list price plus they added the $1500 special lifetime wax job, $800 special nitrogen in the tires and “free” wash jobs for life (on the fifth Wednesday of each and every month).

Newer transmissions are "smart" and will learn your driving habits and smooth out.

I test drove a new 2016 Ram HO, Aisin and it was a bit rough, our 2016 bought used at 25,000 miles was smooth from the beginning, and is still smooth at 55,000 miles.

You are chasing the unicorn. "Your" truck doesn't exist except on paper. Order it because that's likely the only way you will see a 7.3, 2WD, white with the prep package in the color and trim you want. Especially today with inventories low and factory production numbers tenuous.

When I was looking for a Keystone Raptor toy hauler to buy I knew exactly what I wanted, and didn't want. I wanted dual pane windows, queen bed, NO patio system in a Raptor 356, and a couple other items. Didn't exist except on paper and only then if I wrote it on paper. Plenty of Raptor 356 in stock around the country, NONE with what I wanted. So I ordered and got exactly what I wanted. I have the unicorn. You too can have your unicorn but you'll have to order it from the unicorn factory.

Those would not increase the payload sticker on a GVWR limited vehicle .....

In fact they would decrease it. Fun huh?

I just drove a 7.3 F250 XLT FX4 with 3085 Payload. I assume it was less optioned than the one tuffr2 drove.

I had the identical experience. 1-3 was very clunky.

3/4-10 was as smooth as butter and fast.

I don't have context of the 6.2, but I came away impressed from the Godzilla.

I test drove a Lariat trim F-250 FX4 level so that makes some sense that a Lariat is about 200lbs heavier than the XLT.

Agree - would need to order the truck I want. Finding a 2WD F-350 is impossible.
The puzzle to me when I built a F-350 it had a GVWR of just 10,000lbs. That was A bummer and I built it 3 times - all gave the truck a 10,000 GVWR with the 6.5' bed. Would they use F-350 7,300lb rear axles on a truck that has the same GVWR as the F-250.

I wonder if this will push me to the Ram or GM truck as their 2500 series trucks seems more capable than the Ford F-250.

No doubt the 7.3 Godzilla is more powerful than the 6.2 Boss. But again not towing, I took the truck on a 12 mile test drive both highway and secondary roads. So the 430ft lbs of torque vs the 470ft lbs of torque was not much different in my test drive.

I did not test drive the Ram 6.4 hemi with the new 8 speed.

I have a 2020 F250 CCLB 4x4 with the 7.3 'Zilla and 10 speed, 3:73's.
The more I drive it the more I like it.

BPTS - my thought is I agree, and you won't know how much you like it until you drive another truck.

Again, the 2020 Ford super duty with the new 10 speed is a great highway cruiser.

Why do you want a 2 wheeler tuffr? More Payload ?
Can you find a Short bed 4x4 around the same? Or a smaller back seat ( double cab, extended cab) instead of crew cab. I thought Ford let you build any cab any bed or not any more?

I never use 4x4 - ever. My thought is a 2wd with locking rear diff is better than stupid 4x4 which I have had in the past but never used. What I call stupid 4x4 is where the front tire with the least traction will spin as well as the rear tire with the least traction will spin. I believe these are called 'open 4x4 systems' I like the idea I can lock the rear axles if needed on my truck.

I will admit the Ford with the FX4 package is good since you can lock the rear axle plus have 1 front tire pulling. I believe the front tire with the least traction.

The F-250 FX4 I test drove felt more clumsy than my 2WD truck. Probably because it leaned more in turns because it was higher.

I do believe AWD vehicles with intelligent systems are way superior to 4x4 systems.

Then the other big advantage is payload. I believe payload is increased by as much as 600 lbs.

The last advantage is also kinda big but mpg is probably 1 or 2 more mpg.

More story - I traded an AWD Honda Ridgeline on a 4x4 F-150 on a snowy day in Ohio. The Ridgeline was way better in the snow than the 4x4 F-150. The Ridgeline felt planted and the F-150 felt loosey goosey. Ops - I lied, I did use 4x4 which I describe as loosey goosey.
