I like to read my owners manual for a new vehicle, lots of good info in there. When we bought our kids their first cars, I always opened the glove box, handed them their owners manual and said read it. They would look incredulous, and say "seriously?". To which I would reply, don't come asking any questions about how to do something until you've read it.

Sort of worked and I still to this day tell them the answer to their question is in their manual. Although I've lately just started saying "Did you RTFM?" and they all know what that stands for.

I did read the manual! I read all about the "Tow/Haul" mode and "Exhaust Breaks", but either I didn't completely understand or the manual didn't mention the engine revving up. Either way, all is good now.
