Ford Tow Assist

I'm curious if anyone actually uses the Ford Tow Assist knob for backing in their TT. What do you think? We won't be picking up our new TT for a month or so, but am wondering if it is worth the effort to install the required stickers. FYI, our TT will be 25' from hitch to ladder. Thanks.

If it makes things easier for some folks to back the trailer into a campsite, I'm sure some will use it. 'REAL men' will think it's a sign of weakness, but most every demonstration video I've seen of the tow assist shows it being used to back a boat trailer on a launch ramp. While it will reduce the entertainment I enjoy at boat ramps, it will make launching easier for the folks waiting to go next.

Those were pretty much my thoughts. The salesman I bought the truck from told me that it is of some use for really short trailers that are jackknife easily, but for longer trailers not all that easier.

I have it.... never used it (24 foot towing length). At first I thought "Hey... Cool!" But after backing the old fashioned way a couple of times, that changed to "Why bother?" I still have to have my wife out back for positioning, but using the steering wheel for backing is just not that difficult.

I can say that I would never again be without the tailgate back up camera though. That baby is a lifesaver when hitching up. Get close, tap the zoom button, and hit the right spot first time, every time.

I have seen it, and I can't imagine trying to use it. I've been backing trailers since I was 7 or 8... and I was taught to back with my mirrors. I can see how my wife might benefit from it though. The few times she's tried to back the boat down the ramp while I was sitting in the boat had me close to having a stroke. Haha.

I could have used it backing an empty boat trailer. I could not see the trailer without the boat and it jack knifed.
