Ford trailer TPMS Sensors

I have the Ford traIler TMPS system, and want to switch to a new trailer. Are the sensors a fairly standard item available from a tire store, or do I need to remove the sensors from my current trailer?

It cost me over $60 to have the sensors installed, so it will probably cost a little more than that to have them removed.

I tried to find individual sensors on Ford’s web site, but could find only the full TPMS kits.

Check the tires on the new trailer. If they are steel belted the Ford sensors will not work.

You can only use ford sensors. I tried to use generic sensors and the didn't work

Same tires on the new rig as on the old one - Goodyear Endurance.

The tire shop charged me $20 or $30 to remove them, so I can get them installed in my new rig.

I am moving the Ford TPMS kit from a TT to a 5er. The kit has a replacement for the 7-way connector on the bumper, but nothing for the in-bed plug for the fifth wheel.

How do people deal with this? I suppose I could just let the TPMS cord dangle over the outside of the tailgate and connect to the plug in the bumper, but that does not seem like a very elegant way to do this.
