What's interesting about the Maverick is that it comes standard with a hybrid engine, which gives it phenomenal gas mileage. Some day soon every car will have a hybrid drive train as this has proven to be the most fuel-efficient and cost effective way to propel a car.

The base Hybrid front drive only can be, yes. I haven't seen any Baseplates being made yet though.

Thanks - base may take awhile unless it becomes an extremely popular truck....

Look good tho - something I would consider down the road.

I am scheduled to take my Maverick hybrid to the Roadmaster factory for them to use as a baseplate prototype on 1/31. Baseplate should be available around 8 weeks later.

Ford announced this morning they are not accepting any more preorders. Can't meet demand.

Roadmaster’s baseplate should be available by March 18, 2022.

My Maverick hybrid was the second of two prototypes, and looks great.

Glad someone else commented. Reading through the thread, I was about to come to the conclusion that I was the only one who remembered the Maverick being a car.

Ford unveils the Maverick

Yes but most of those who remember it are 60 minimum or if they bought one new even older. I’d bet that’s not the target market for a low priced compact “truck” [emoji6] I had a friend who bought a maverick and drove the heck out of it. It was not a great car . I couldn’t complain I bought a new Vega GT. Now there was a C —- car !

No they were cheap very reliable cars. Basically on the early Mustang chassis. True the later big bumper 4-door versions were very ugly. But the early Grabber Mavericks with a 302 were cool.

I had two of them years ago. A standard and an automatic. The manual was way faster..

I think the term Maverick probably fits this new vehicle better than the old one. Ford had the name why not use it.
