Ford vin based towing etc specs check here

Hello every one:
Here is a smart idea well bright idea or better or best idea FORD has.

A FORD VIN SPECIFIC GVWR, GCWR and Max PAYLOAD. Gotta love it, they thunk of every thing.

You can even enter your trailer specifics to see what your truck can do or the one you are considering! This is above and beyond the better idea its the best idea a Truck manufacturer has had and given it to us RV folks.

Must be US only, my Canadian VIN doesn't do anything. Truck was built in Kansas City, would be nice if it worked.

Send FORD customer service an email with your yr and model

Send FORD customer service with your year and model and tell em the calculator does not have the data for it. I am sure they will improve the application to include your year and all Canadian models as well. It should be a quick and easy expansion of the application to encompass more years and Canadian products as well. Frankly eventually I suppose we can get to a universal vin number wouldn't that be peachy! Could start with Canadian and US automotive requirement's normalization as in one product for both countries!

Random 2019 vin

I tried vins of older trucks could get it to work for this 2019 and some newer ones... Used vins from the for sale ....adverts

I just tried a few random vins the oldest one I could get to work was a 2019 model. So there must be a limitation. I would think they have the data to extend the years further back as well eh.

But their database isn't. It would be nice if they simply stated what was in their database: Ford vehicles registered in the USA since #### year.
