How many miles do you pull your rig a year?
This is not for a badge of honor. I ask because a trailer shop was giving me a quote on some work and he commented that the average trailer only moves **** miles a year.
Soooooo....I want to know if he is accurate because I don't believe it.
I'll tell you guys the number later.

I towed a 5th wheel about 4,000 miles per year going north and south from Ohio to Florida to Pennsylvania, Virginia and back and forth between these areas.

Dry rot is the number one cause of tire replacement on trailers.
First two years of ownership I put 24,000 miles on my trailer. The last 6 months has only been 1,700 so far but in Sept will be another 3k or so.

Well I just got back from a 3,000 mile trip soooo.....
I would guess that I probably average 2,000 - 3,000 miles per year as most camping trips are within 200 miles of my home and some are within 20 - 50. This year with that long trip, maybe 5,000

The people on these forums are likely not your average users either. These are people who use their equipment and like to talk about it. I without question say most see less than 1000 miles per yer. There are storage lots full of RV's that never or rarely get used.
For me in the past couple of years I would say we are pushing around the 10,000 miles per year.
The same is true of many other "toys". I am also a SxS rider. In 3 years we put on just over 10,000 miles. While we do see some high milage machines most only see a few hundred miles per year.

its getting further every year.
Prior to retirement, it was about 3000 per year.
Since retirement, its been 8k last year and this year will be a little more than that.
Prior to the trip from SW Idaho to Key West in 2022, I had the axles aligned, installed Morryde CRE300 with HD wet shackles. and New Good Year Endurance tires (Load range E up from D).
I'm not seeing unusual wear like I did prior to the alignment.

On average we do about 5600 miles a year. Shortest year was ~3300 and longest year was ~8100. Currently have ~4600 miles planned for the coming season which starts in just a few days.

Great point; we here are the RV aficionados!
I'm a moderator on a motorcycle forum where some guys put on 25,000 miles a year......but I bought a 16 year old bike with 577 miles on it and while not common, it's not unheard of to find such low mileage bikes out there......RV's are similar.

Our ORV will be a year old in July and it already has about 15,000 km's on it, including the 1200 km trip it took from the factory in Oregon to the dealer in Alberta. The only reason the km's are so high was because we went o pick up the trailer in Alberta and broiught it back home to Ontario over a period of a couple of months. Then we went back out to Texas, Arizona, California, New Mexico etc just after Christmas.
