I think there's a little too much excitement and hope for the new Godzilla motor. Nothing real new and innovative other than it's a "truck" motor. There are several good articles that include interviews with the Ford engineers and the design target is 14K gvwr and up. The fuel economy will be improved while loaded but not for everyday driving. Ford even states that it would not work in a F150 as fuel economy will suffer. It should be an excellent motor for towing if you're towing most of the time or in a motorhome but, for those like me that only tow about 5% of the time and their truck serves as their daily driver, probably not so much.

Here's a quote from the lead engineer while discussing lighter trucks and daily driving: "There would be a hit for the displacement. But when you start talking about running day-in day-out, at high weights...the displacement brings a big fuel-economy benefit."

The Godzilla engine I am hoping is not a dud. I am excited because of the great powerful engines Ford has come up with starting in 2011. I am taking about the Coyote, Boss and Eco-Boost. The 5.0 litre coyote competes well with the Ram 5.7 Hemi. The 6.2 boss competes well with the Ram 6.4 Hemi. And no other manufacturer can beat the power of the 3.5 Eco-Boost.

So I am excited to see what Ford can do with a 7.3 litre engine.

I am lucky I can still buy Mello Cups when I need a taste from home.

I been to a few Altoona Curve minor league baseball games and to Horseshoe Curve a few times.

For people that do not know that area it is mountainous with lots of 1,200 foot ups and downs. Super green this time of year and has a beautiful mountain lake (Raytown Lake) that winds thru the mountains for 26 miles. The water is always refreshing and cool.

All Ford dealers have access to a nationwide search engine for all Ford dealers. If it exists, they can fine one in your specifications.
