I have towed my 6x14 single axle no brakes cargo trailer loaded to max (3500 lbs) with my lifted 2018 Silverado 1500 5.3 6spd 3.42
I'm running a 9"McGaughys lift with Kryptonite UCA'S. Add a leafs in the rear 37" Nitto Ridge Grapplers 10 ply load range E tires. 1foot taller than stock total.
The lift isn't the problem. The gearing is.
I run a Superchips Flashpaq F5 tuner have a Borla Catback dual exhaust so there is still ample power there . It helps if you just shift it yourself instead of leaving it in drive. It's really not that bad as most would think, at 3500 lbs. If it gets much heavier than that all bets are off. It won't shift out 4th gear.
Also the truck rides real good not rough at all. Cheap lift kits ride like crap. (Rough Country)
I still run the stock 3.42 gears mostly because I just don't use this truck to tow that much . It takes a 13" drop hitch and I
flipped the axle on trailer to raise it about 6".
The truck is basically a pavement princess for looks not anything else. I have another 2018 Silverado that is stock. I use that for most towing.
