Lube plate Size, MorRyde RPB + BW Companion

Is a 10" lube plate the appropriate size for a MoRryde RPB and a Companion Hitch?

Might want to consider the camco 12” one. Measure your 5th wheel hitch plate and width of the Moryde pin plate to see.

My 43’ Fuzion uses the 12” plate on the Moryde rubber pin box.

Won't hurt for it to stick out--get the larger one. There are also 2 thicknesses that cause some people problems when using the thicker one.

This is another area that can be over-thought----any lube plate will fit any king pin. If it sticks out some past the hitch plate, not a problem. I submit if you use the 10" and there is space left to the hitch plate edge, then you needed the 12"
The only problem I have seen is they come in two thicknesses--had a friend with B&W and a HitchHiker fiver that the hitch jaws would not close with the thicker plate. Had to use a thinner one.
First there was Teflon--have used one of these for many years with great results. Now, B&W says theirs is 'graphite-impregnated' and has a correct upper side and lower side to install. How does the hitch know? The only difference between the king pin hitch plate and the B&W hitch plate is the B&W hitch has flat-head bolts in the surface--maybe that is why they say 'install with label side up", don't know. Teflon has served me well since 2007 with 17k+ fivers and 4k+ pin weights. Never wore one out, but have lost them by falling off when unhitched. If your plate doesn't want to stay on, get an 0-ring of proper size to fit around the king pin shank--it will hold the plate on and there is a bevel in the hitch head plate that will allow the o-ring to stay put without being torn up. If you can't quite get the plate all the way on the pin shank, just lower the trailer onto the hitch--guarantee it will push it all the way on.

I used a 10" with my B&W Patriot and MR for 3 seasons. Other than normal scuffing it was in great shape when I made the switch to an Andersen last year.
The top plate on my B&W is 11"W. So a 10" lube plate is only 1/2" in on the edges. Why have 1/2" hanging over doing nothing when using a 12"?
FWIW Etrailer says 10"

Yes, and that's where I got the idea to order a 10" from amazon, but I guess I wanted to double check the size.

Cumminsfan,
Why have 1/2" of surface area not in contact with the plate? But either one will work the same--have no idea why someone would still be using grease with these plates available.
