Just for grins and giggles, I saw this article on my Google news page: Ram pickup beats BMW, Mercedes as top luxury vehicle of 2020

Ya, thats really wild that ram beat out the likes of mercedes but chrysler has been putting really nice interiors in their vehicles for a long time in the upper models.

If I had to pick a vehicle to drive across country I would pick a Ram 1500 with air suspension. But after that it would be a GM 1500 series truck. Those are some smooth riding trucks and you sit up high for good visibility.

But that Ram interior is top notch and I will agree it is better than a Lexus which makes it better than BMW or Mercedes.

Not a diesel, but I got my 2020 F350 Thursday.

Crew Cab, 8' bed, SRW, Lariat, 4WD, 7.3L, 10spd, 3.73 axle, 11400 GVWR.

Tow rating is 15000, GCW 23500, cargo 3859.

It's going to take a little getting used to, but I like it.

Now I need to get something to tow behind it. The plan is a smaller 5th wheel.

Tim_T - thanks for posting the stickers. Great looking truck[emoji106]. I think it is Blue Jean blue but it might be black...is it Blue Jean blue?

This is the truck I will want if I end up buying a mid size(ish) 5th wheel. Right now looking a travel trailers but I like 5th wheels a tiny bit better. 7.3 Godzilla with a 10 speed ... that is going to be a great combination.

3,859lbs of payload and 7,230lb rear axles should tow med size 5th weels or smaller easy.

I will be interested it how you like it after some miles. I liked the lighter steering and found the truck rides much better than expected.

Yes, that's the Bluejeans Blue.
I'm looking forward to seeing it in the sun. 4 days of overcast/light snow/drizzle.

The steering is light, especially at low speed. It has the adaptive steering too. I'll have to figure out if i can tell it's there. The ratio is enough different from my previous vehicle that I need to get used to it.

43mph - 1100rpm in 9th gear. And it stays in 9th on a hill where my previous truck would have downshifted.
70mph - 1800 rpm in 10th.

After driving V6's for 15 years, I'm enjoying that V8 sound again.

Man, that truck sounds sweet. So is this your 1st truck? If so, you picked a good one I think.

Only drove V6's - mid sized trucks or fast(ish) cars?

What gas mileage do you expect to get and what is the size of the fuel tank? Very nice looking truck. Please follow up with an account of how the new engine performs with the 10 speed after you have put a few miles on it. This may be a viable alternative to a diesel. Thank you for posting.

This truck has a 48 gallon tank. That tank only comes with the crew cab/long bed combination. standard tank is something like 34 or 36 gallon.

TFL reported 7.3L unloaded highway milage in the mid 14's with a 4.3 axle and mid 15's with a 3.55 axle. Based on that, I should expect about 15 highway with my 3.73, maybe a little better in the summer. I'll report when its broken in and I start traveling this spring.

Tuffr2- This is not my first truck, but it is my first big truck (not counting uhauls and a week in a rental class C). I moved from light trucks to SUV's and wagons then into a 2.7L F150 as family needs have changed over the years.

Consumer reports is about as truck knowledgeable as l am about space ships . Motor trend they won heavy duty back to back years 19 and 20 Their 1500 in 19 . I am not saying they are better than Ford or Chevy but they are no worse . Best thing that happened was selling to Fiat . They dumped a ton of money into modernization of plants design fit and finish .

It looks like they increased the ccc on the 2020 F250 to what the 2019 F350 was.

Nice. Beats my 2019 GMC by 180 lbs on axle weights and 600lbs on ccc. What is interesting is GVWR is 200lbs less than mine.

Very nice ride.. like the color.
