Need a cheap Tow Vh for a 20', 4700# TT Ideas?
Going to park my 20 ft TT in storage 60 miles from where I will use it next summer. I need to pick it up and move it a couple weeks every month next summer. Can't leave it nearer than 60 miles away. Can't leave it in place all summer either. Going to the same spot every time all summer.
Need a tow vehicle that I can leave next to it for the summer. Storage at a small airport, fly in from home, start the TV and hook up and be gone for the 60 mile trip to set it up. Pull up stakes, drive the 60 miles back and park it. Might leave the TV in storage all winter for use the next year so I don't want to lay out even near $10,000 for something I'm going to use 5-6 times next summer and then let it sit.
Any ideas for a TV for the short trip that won't break the bank? Don't need a show piece vehicle. Strictly utilitarian. Any old beater would do but which one?

To tow 4,700lbs 60 miles. Is that 60 miles on back roads or 60 miles on the highway with Semi Trucks whizzing by?
If on back roads get a $8000 Toyota Tacoma or Nissan Frontier.
If 60 miles on the highway get a $8000 F-150, Chevy Silverado, Ram 1500.

60 miles on a paved US highway Very few trucks on this particular road.
$8000 is about twice what I'm looking for. All I need is something that can run. A beater, something most don't even think of or want. Maybe an old cargo van?
I'm looking for ideas that don't cost an arm and a leg just to sit most of the year in an RV lot. Stick shift is OK. We all remember what those are, right?

A cargo van, full size truck, or full size suv would do the trick, heck even an old church van would do it, I dont see you having any trouble finding an old beater to do what you are wanting to do. This took me less than a minute to look up and is just an example of what you could use. https://memphis.craigslist.org/cto/d...426465556.html

I would still look at a used Toyota Tacoma, maybe even a Toyota Tundra generation 2 I think, or the Nissan Frontier. I kinda like both these mini trucks as you can not tell a 2002 vs a 2018 since they have not changed in years. I think you can find a good one for $3,000 or so.
The Chevy Colorado was junk until the redesign a few years ago. I would not buy the old Chevy Colorado.

4700 dry?
Either way, just find any old work truck. Gas engine. Or, as above, a van. Just figure the payload and beat that.

OBS Chevy or GMC with the 5.7 v8. Tried and true combo and will tow that trailer no problem. Sold a 99 Tahoe about 3yrs ago for 3500 with 147k. No issues

Quite honestly, I hadn't thought of using craigslist but I should look
I just started with PUs and wasn't liking the pricing I saw.
Church van, cargo van, ya, might be just what I need.
