The 3.5 ecoboost is used in the ford gt. Now, im sure that motor is hand assembled and i know its running a different tune, but that just shows you how good those motors are, not that the coyote is a slouch in any way. Ford is making some really great engines these days. Then again, so is everyone else.

Wife finally picked out a 2015 F150 with the turbo boost. It did not come equipped with a factory installed brake controller even though it has the trailer tow package on it. Any idea what the cost would be to have a dealer install the controller in the dash as the factory would do it? Should pick up vehicle on Wednesday. Good thing camping season was over for us in 2018. Looking forward to getting it back out in 2019 for fun times. Thanks.

The integrated trailer brake controller (ITBC) is included as part of the max tow pkg, but is an option with the regular tow pkg.

The part will cost about $110 from a discount Ford parts dealer.

You can install it yourself, then download and use free FORScan software to activate it. https://forscan.org/download.html

If you want a Ford dealer to take care of providing the parts and installing and activating the controller, then probably about $150 to $200, or maybe more, depending on your relationship with the service manager.

Thanks for the estimate. I think I will let dealer install so that my wife does not complain about my work. I do not touch her truck so she takes care of all the maintenance. I get to drive it once in a while, especially when towing camper. She navigates and it works out just fine. Looking forward to trying everything out in the springtime. Don't think it will be warm enough for fall camping since I already winterized it. Stay safe out there.
