New 2022 Superduty Diesel. How worried should I be about CP4 fuel pump?

I keep reading horror stories of this CP4 pump and US low sulfur diesel fuel causing the pump to fail and destroy the engine and/or complete fuel system.
How worried should I be on my new F350 diesel?

I was worried about water in the fuel so I kept a close eye on the water separator. On my 2012 it was kinda easy to check under the truck. Water could cause the pump and injectors to fail.

I made a leap of faith that Ford engineers would not put out junk with their 1st diesel.

I had the Gen1 6.7 diesel for 6.5 years with only 1 bogus DEF limp mode message that was fixed with a laptop at a Ford dealer.

I think all 3 manufacturers (Ford, Ram, GM) use the best parts that can find (for the price).

Also you probably can get an extended warranty.

There are many on the road with out a problem but if a pump is going to give you issues. It’s the cp4. No rhyme or reason as to when they fail. The checked out on the duramax trucks all over the place 20k to 100k+

I travel a lot and can tell you that the side of the road is not littered with broken pickups.

In 2021 ram went back to the cp3.

Is this going backward? Did Ram lower the fuel pressure?

Diesel Fuel is under (to me) a very high pressure with a finely tuned spray pattern.
This is to get diesel to burn fuel more efficiently.

The cp3 is rated to 800hp while the cp4.2 is rated only to 535hp. The cp3 is the better pump.

Many duramax owners are swapping to the cp3.

IIRC the pumps Ford uses are different internally than the Ram CP4.2 pumps. My lifetime Ram warranty covers the HPFP so all I have to worry about is where I get stranded. :(
