Funny, you don't mention anything about coldfusions post, but blame everyone else for Ram bashing? Dude, get a grip, I can back up all my posts. I don't see any facts in your post, except insults.

Sorry you got your feelings hurt!
Mine's a 2500... read further back where I said "had" a '13 with less than 1000lbs and agreed that the F150 has the greater payload. My feelings aren't hurt in the least actually. I simply enjoy threads right up until they go sideways with the "x brand is better than y brand" which is always the case and there is never any reason for it since I don't believe any of them are bad. Truthfully, my comments were more directed to the "net even in the same league" remark, but whatever. I didn't mention coldfusions post because I don't understand it- not sure what's implied, but it doesn't matter. Carry on.

New Dodge 1500 vs Ford F-150?

None are truly better than the others imo. I like ram and ford, but like the Allison in the chevy. All are great brands, but ram half tons generally have less payload than ford. That doesn't seem to be an issue on the 3/4 and 1 tons when comparing comparable trim levels and payload specs. I was so disgusted with my 2013 ram 1500 Laramie's 1061lbs payload, I sold it and ordered a 2014 3500 srw with 4074lbs payload. My buddy has a f150 eco pretty loaded up and he has 15xxlbs payload...pretty big difference compared to my ram 1500

It's up to you which you buy. All I can add is, should you decide on the Ram, buy one with the 4 corner air suspension!!!!!! I bought a 2015 Ram 1500 Laramie with air suspension, 3:92 rear end, Hemi engine and it tows my 33' Wildcat RKX
(7,500 lbs empty) like a dream!!!

Just be aware some F150 don't have any more load capacity advantage than the Ram.
The 1500 Ram uses a low 6xxx gvwr and small 3900 rawr.

Some F150 have the same numbers.

And a F150HD can have a 8200-7750 gvwr and 4800 rawr

And some F150 have low 7xxx gvwr and 4550 rawr.

Choose carefully.

yes, I feel your pain. I tried to tough it out with 946lbs of payload but my nerves wouldn't allow it. I have kids in there. The Ram was absolutely perfect except that. Likely the best truck I have had for a long time. So, I sucked it up and bought the proper truck- and my wallet is still screaming.

So, in the half ton segment, the F150 has no equal for proper towing spec right out of the gate. If you were yanking a pop up or a boat, no issue- but as soon as you start adding the creature comforts (and lets face it- we all want that) then they are no longer competitive with the payload required unfortunately. Ram really dropped the ball with that. To have the goodies, I had to jump to a 2500

My advice, go with a 2500... won't cost that much, if any, more. If your wife is anything like mine, she will want a bigger, heavier trailer in a few years.

I didn't heed the advice of this board and ended up changing trucks with everyone of the last 3 trailers... 1/2 Tom, 3/4 ton, finally I just got a 1 ton DRW... it will be along time before she finds a trailer I can't pull now!

I was in the same place you were and after doing the research comparing the 150 to the 250 I placed an order for a 2017 F250 crew cab long bed SRW with the same options and the price was less than the 150 but the towing ability is much better. They use the same cab now so size from one to the other is a non issue. The 250 is a workhorse compared to the 150. Compare and then decide.
