F350 prep
Should have bought a Silverado. Mine 2500 HD came all prepped with a puck system to handle my fifth wheel.

The shipping delay may be a blessing for you.
I started pulling a twin axle 5th wheel trailer with a 2500 RAM Cummins; wasnt satisfied and bought a Ford F350 SRW. As you would expect, the 350 Ford pulled the load better than the 2500 RAM. However, if you test drive the dual rear wheel trucks, you will never go back ( as far as towing a large 5th wheel goes).
Just sayin.....

The sales managers who order heavy-duty trucks don't always think clearly. When I was buying my RAM Laramie 3500 dually in 2008, I saw some beautiful RAM 3500's equipped as I wanted (tow package, locking dfferential, Laramie, sliding rear window) in North Carolina but without extendable tow mirrors. Whaaat? Who builds a heavy-duty truck like this without tow mirrors?
I asked them to add the mirrors and I'd do the deal; however, the dealer wanted $450 for the extendable mirrors, a $100 factory option. I said, "Why would I pay you $450 because you didnt know how to equip a truck made specifically for towing?" I bought a fully equipped truck with tow mirrors in Michigan.
One rule I learned in my experience is that a dealer always wants you to buy what they have in stock, not what you need.
A second rule is that you should always get the tow package on your next vehicle because it will come in handy, and it will enhance the resale value. I have a friend say "Oh I just ut a tow hitch on myself."
That's great but then he has to do the tow wiring too (I know, they offer snap-in systems) and he has no transmission cooler for heavier towing.
Getting the tow package is always a good value.

Agreed but just for the record, the 5th wheel prep on a Super Duty and the tow package are separate things and the Tow Package and Trailer Brake Controller are Standard Equipment.
Cheers,
Dave

I have a 2024 F250, and this week I met another SuperDuty truck towing a horse trailer on a narrow bridge. He was over the line and we kissed mirrors.
My truck's driver's mirror is a tow mirror with a turn signal light in it. It doesn't fold electrically.
I went to order another mirror and they're over $1,000 to replace. I couldn't believe it. To replace a non-tow mirror on a F150 is over $300.
If you're crossing a narrow bridge, be quick to reach out and fold in your mirror. That's the second time in a few years my mirror's been demolished. But this time, the price is ridiculous for a replacement.
I'd hate to think what a replacement mirror would be on a Platinum or King's Ranch edition.
