Just bought 2021 f-350 long bed 6.7 turbo diesel single wheel! Paid MSRP! Oh and my payload is 4251lbs. So she, "The Grey Goose" can hold some weight!

Im curious as to how much pin weight you can carry. What is the unladen weight of your rear axle? I assume your rear axle weight rating is 7230 lbs?

I have the '21 F350 Lariat SRW Diesel, crew cab 4x4 and found this weird thing (was discussed in another thread)

Ford web site said rear GAWR is indeed 7230 lbs (screen clip in first pic) which is respectable.

But when I look at the door jamb sticker of my truck it lists a measly 6780 lbs (see 2nd pic).

I have not checked with Ford yet to explain the difference and it is still within range for my 5th wheel but kind of disappointing. Maybe it is the contingency "with this tire and that pressure" ?

I wonder if that big cat could control a 7,500lb. travel trailer...lol. Man, look at how massive that thing is. Makes that HDT look tiny. Yes, tiny.

I worked in WV a few decades ago flying helicopters for the state and landed at many mine sites. When you see that Cat up close and for real it's scary impressive. Oh and it's electric.

We ended up paying just under MSRP ( did not like that at all ) for our 2021 F350 as we had to have it for our new 5th wheel , I had been looking for a while but either truck didn't have all of the necessities that I wanted or they were sold quickly , I happened onto our local Ford dealers site just as they had posted 4 trucks in transit , called them the next morning and put a deposit on one sight unseen , it showed up to lot a week later all of them sold before they hit the lot

It seems as though your payload sticker might be wrong. I agree its likely tires that is limiting your axle rating. Regardless, by the time youre fuelled up with hitch and passengers your rear axle might weigh about 3680 lbs leaving about 3100 for pin weight.

I think Ford did put some incorrect stickers on their trucks. I don't know how many or what years but that sure looks like this case. Maybe worth a Google to see if your truck is affected.

I note the discussion about pricing. For the record, I paid about a percent under INVOICE in February for a SUPERduty. (No HDs here!)

Tempted to sell but it already has 11,000 miles of fifth wheel pulling on it. We are having too much fun to get rid if the rigs, even though both could see a profit at this snapshot in time.

I did read about some 2020 models that had too high numbers on the sticker that were reduced later. But mine is a 2021 model and the sticker number is lower than the web site spec. As it happens, other than the screen clip from a few days ago that I posted, this spec can not be found anymore because the '21 model was replaced on the web site already with the '22 model. And the '21 model pdf version of the specifications does not list the GAWR at all.

I did get a hold today of Ford Customer Care on the phone and the agent did not even know what the GAWR is. Talked with his "sources" and let me know whatever is on the door jamb sticker is the valid number.

Now...at least he let me know that there is another fresh recall out since 7/16 (number 21S31) for 34,000 trucks of the diesel swr F350 of 2020 and 2021 including mine regarding the "rear axle weld interface". For some reason customers in general will only be notified mid August. Apparently the rear axle can break loose from the suspension and twist the axle housing, losing prop shaft connection and brakes. Now I am trying to get this fixed before our big trip mid August. Not a good feeling driving as-is with 5th wheel and a fully loaded axle. But I need to talk with the dealership service if they even know what to do (re-weld the axle or replace if damaged).

I am wondering if I should post this info as a new thread because nobody knows about that so far. And I am beginning to wonder if reports of such damage led Ford to reduce the sticker axle weight rating of the truck last year.

Probably not a good time to buy a new F350 Diesel SRW right now...

Edited: For what it is worth, the new 2022 model 350 diesel srw has still a 7230 lbs rating on the Ford web site. Some time I will check a dealer (if somebody has such a unicorn) what is on the door sticker.

I've got a '17 Fleetwood Bounder 33C and want to tow a compact truck, like a Ford Ranger or Chev Colorado. I'm finding that their GSVR are approx 6,000 lbs. and my hitch rating is 5,000 lbs. Anyone have a suggestion?

Lightbulb

We bought a 2021 F-350 DRW 4x4 XL diesel 6.7 truck, 10 speed trans with 4.10 gear ratio in March 2021. I found it online as the truck sat in the yard at Kentucky assembly plant. My frame has a sticker on it says : F-250 - 350 SRW frame. I have read that Ford builds one frame for several trucks.

I would need to read the door sticker again on weight ratings.. The truck is the XL model with the STX dress up package on it.

I think the CCC was 5200 pounds.
