Well my lead time just went from 12-14 weeks to 22-26 weeks! So far I have waited 14 weeks. Woo Hoo I am half way there! I gotta just keep thinking it will be nice when it gets here.

A few days ago I was at my local Ford dealer. They had 5 new F-150's and zero Superduties. Yes, zero. I will say the F-150 XLT I test drove was sweet. Quiet, smooth, and very refined.

It will be worth the wait no matter what truck you are waiting for IMHO.

Hopefully the wait is almost over. Mine finally shipped on Monday - estimated delivery is 5/30-6/5. Must be going by rail for it to take 4 weeks from Louisville to NW Florida. Going to stop by the dealer tomorrow and see if they can give me anything more specific

Shipping delays are a huge issue

I just read that approximately 11 000 Silverado and Sierra trucks are stuck at the Oshawa, Ontario (Canada) plant, about 5hrs from me. There is a railcar shortage as well as worker shortage for shuttling the trucks around.

According to the source, Ford is suffering even worse at their plant just south of our border.

It will take quite a while for stuff to become normal again, if ever. I think it'll be a solid 2 years before anything gets back on track close to pre-pandemic times.

My clothes washer broke last week and I tried to fix it. Parts unavailable, so I went shopping. 8 stores later, I kinda, sorta found what I wanted, and I had to settle. I am painting out the old pedestals to somewhat match the new machines, as they are unavailable for at least 16 weeks and super expensive, 3 times what I paid for these 14 years ago! This is a global problem affecting all trades and industries.

I will be in a different part of the county in the next few days and will have some free time. I will let you guys know if I see a dealer like in 2018. I do want to look at the new interior of the Ford Superduty trucks.

Update for anyone interested.
I ordered my Chevy 2500HD Custom CC LB 4x4 6.6 gas on 12/22/21.
5 1/2 Mo. later order still has not been accepted by GM for production due to lack of allocation and constraints from GM.
First is was the bedliner and fifth wheel on constraint, now the custom convenience package with the folding trailering mirrors.

Dealer told me next time he gets allocation for an HD truck we will see what is still on constraint at that time. As I am not willing to give up the options I want it may be awhile. Beginning to wonder if I will get a 2022 truck.

To be fair the dealer did tell me 4-12 Mo. from order to delivery with average being 6-8 Mo.

Looking at all the constraints currently in place, I consider myself very lucky to have gotten my 3500HD Duramax when I did. I got heated/vented seats, steering wheel, parking assist and all the other options that are not currently available. Only thing mine didn't come with was the puck system. I just had a Curt gooseneck ball system added.

The salesman just called me and my GMC 3500 DRW truck arrived at the dealership this afternoon. He said that it would be ready for pick up tomorrow afternoon. Ordered it in March, came off the Flint assembly line on April 17, was sitting on a railcar in Battle Creek on April 30th, and how here in Dallas on May 9th. After reading the stories on here about the lengthy delays others are experiencing, I'm counting myself very fortunate on having ordered mine and gotten it delivered in less than 60 days.

Update

I received my email update from Ford on the F350 I ordered back in December. They’re telling me it’s going to be built week of June 13. Hopefully it’s to my dealer in southwest Florida by mid July. I ordered 7.3L gasser Lariat with fifth wheel prep.

Checked the Ford tracker last night and saw that my truck had been delivered. First thing this morning I called my salesman and set up to sign paperwork at lunch. They got 11 new vehicles in last night so they were behind on doing pdi and detailing which meant mine wasn't ready to go after signing, but they had it ready by the time I got off work. Total time from order to taking it home was only 9 1/2 weeks.

I ordered a Chevy HD 2500 Feb 2nd. I pick it up from the dealer on may 19th. Shocked me when it arrived. The dealer told me right now lead time is 60 days to build. It’s getting better

Twenty months to get my Ford F550 chassis cab. Even then I was only able to secure a truck that someone else had ordered but was unable to take delivery of. It took hundreds of hours searching the web over many months to make this find. But obviously it worked faster than going up against all the fleet buyers trying to fill orders for ambulances, fire/rescue, dump trucks, bucket trucks, etc. Even the one I got was originally destined to be a welder’s rig.

Had to travel from Georgia to California to pick it up and then a week later drop it at the up-fitter in Indiana where it is spending another five months having a tow body, air-ride suspension and other accessories installed.

It has been a journey for sure but the light at the end of the tunnel is appearing at the of this month (6/22).

I order a 2023 2500 Duramax this week, production on 23 models supposed to start July 18.
My Ford Super Duty dealer told me they couldn’t place an order till August. Currently have a 2019 Ram 3500 diesel flatbed with 30k it’s been a great truck. But wife wants a single wheel truck to drive. I’ll post when I get a build date

I was at a Chevy dealer the other day. Closest dealer to my house, if I was desperate for a truck, not the dealer I would go to, but they had best price on an oil change and tire rotation, first in line at 7 AM, on my way home by 8 AM.

They had probably 2 dozen Silverados on the lot, all were 1/2 ton. Had one with a diesel, all the rest were the 2.7 turbos. No 5.3 liter or 6.2 liter.
