model still has not been accepted for production by GM six mo. later due to parts constraints and lack of allocation by dealer.
Last week dealer called me and informed my that GM will not produce any more long beds this year and if I want one I will have to reorder an 2023 model. I went to dealer and went over the build sheet to confirm all the options I wanted and was assured that no items were on constraint but they don't have pricing for new model yet and I will loose the price protection on the 22 deal. I was assured that they will treat as well as they can on pricing so I placed the order.
This week I learned from internet searching that the power folding mirrors, I wanted, are not available for the new model. Contacted dealer and he said he was not aware until I informed him and confirmed but said we will have to wait until he gets allocation and see what is on constraint at that time.

Evidently there is no guarantee that you can get what you ordered and I have learned that dealer allotment has a great deal to do with how long it takes to get your order accepted by GM after it is placed.
I am beyond frustrated and regretting ever trading in my 21 model as I am missing out on a whole season of hauling my TT.
That's why wHen the opportunity presented itself, I bought my lightly used 2021 f350 last week. I ordered the 2022 in March but who knows when or if I'll ever get it. If Ford comes through and actually builds my truck, I'll sell one of them.

I wish I could find a comparable used truck, I have been looking but haven't found one suitable at a reasonable price. I am hearing that the market is starting to turn so if I can find something before the 23 truck gets here I will likely go for it.

It's definitely difficult to find used HD trucks at reasonable prices. I got lucky.

Finally received my F350 SRW Lariat with fifth wheel prep and 7.3L gasser yesterday. Almost seven months to complete from time of ordering to delivery.
I’m impressed with how smooth the ride was on the 22 mile trip home from the dealership. I expected it to be a lot more harsh.
Fit and finish looks to be excellent. Interior is beautiful. Hoping to have this vehicle for at least ten years so I put a lot of content into it.
I’ve almost finished reading all the owners manuals. I can’t wait to set up the trailer backing assist on my fifth wheel to see if it works as good as it looks in some of the videos I’ve seen.
Real test and the reason I ordered it is coming soon when I can finally assemble my RV rig of this truck and my 37 foot fifth wheel.

Congratulations! I always like ordering my vehicles & getting everything that I wanted for it. Only down side is the wait right now but it sounds like your wait was well worth it. Enjoy!

Cool - if you don't mind what is the payload on your truck? That is the truck I would want. A Lariat with 5th wheel prep and 7.3 gas engine.

What do you think your 5th wheel will weigh?

I've got a 22 F350 Lariat CCSB. 7.3, no sunroof. Lariat value, sport appearance, 5th wheel prep and my sticker is 3861. I towed a cougar 28rdb 5th wheel over 900 miles round-trip this past week from upstate NY to Bar Harbor Maine and averaged 9.2 hand calculated. Set cruise between 70-72, lots of hills and stop and go traffic. Around town empty, best I average is 13.5. Pulling big hills, it never got above 3800 rpms and trans shifted smooth. I'm happy.

I ordered mine June 2021 and it came in 2 days before Thanksgiving.

I ordered a F350 on 8 March. The only communication I've received was a letter from ford last week promising to update me at least once every 45 days.

2022 Ford F-350 Dually Diesel

I ordered my new Ford F-350 Dually King Ranch on September 22 of 2020 and I was just called by Dealer that it arrived at the Rail Yard in San Antonio on 14 July. Just a week shy of 9 months. Have had VIN since March. Was manufactured in May then sat for chips for “what I don’t know”. Long wait since we sold our Class A in November and had a new DRV MS’s Houston delivered by dealer in November and no tow vehicle to tow it.

Stopped at the dealership Thursday to talk to him about changing my engine selection to the diesel and see if he had any updates. He confirmed that the change could be made, as did not have a VIN yet. From the day I ordered it I've been told this. So, I signed for the change and the addition of cab clearance lights. The next day I was told the engine change could not be made but the lights would be. Today was told no changes at all will be allowed. Dealer said he doesn't understand why he's unable to make the changes since there is still no VIN

I worked at a Honda Plant on an IT assignment. They used what they called a 'Knock Down Lot'. A knock down lot was material to build 60 cars of the same MTC (Model, Type, Color).

So that means they would build 60 cars the same. Maybe 60 Blue LX Accords. Then they would change and maybe build 60 Green EX Accords. The sheet metal came in big rolls where it would be cut and stamped into floor pans, fenders, doors ect. From there to the weld station. Cool robotics would weld it all together. Then dipped in a electro magnetic solution before the paint department. They would try to build 1,500 cars on one shift. While I was there they only built 1,200 to 1,300 cars a day. They built engines about 4 hours ahead of time in the Honda Engine Plant in Anna Ohio. They would ship the engines to East Liberty Ohio and Marysville Ohio.

The thing I was really surprised with was how clean the factory was. They made less mess building a car than I did changing oil. This was one of my coolest IT assignments. The programming was actually too easy.

Oh - the paint engineers told me white paint and light color paint was more pliable and would chip less than a dark color. After the body was painted they would measure the paint thickness. All in all a really cool operation. Much better than working for a bank.

Now I am hearing rumors that the rail system here in the states are looking to go on strike! This is NOT going to help my truck, that was produced over a month ago in Mexico, get here to me. Biden is supposed to have a meeting with representatives today to try & stave this off. Not to get political but I am less than confident he will be of any help.

Agree a rail strike will be very bad. Cars/trucks back up with no where to go. There was a rail strike before my assignment at Honda that other Honda workers were still talking about. Parking areas fill up then the near by rail cars get filled up but just sit there.
