I purchased a 2018 Silverado z71 with the 5.3, 3.42 gears and intergrated brake controller. It’s bone stock but I have a six inch lift on 35 inch tires on stock rims. I’m looking at buying a sunset trail 262bh that has a dry weight of 5500lbs.. from my calculations my truck is capable of towing this camper. Am I correct?

Its towing capacity is 7,600 pounds. 5.3L V8 Engine: The second-level engine reaches 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque. Its towing capacity increases to 11,100 pounds
So i guess your good to go. Not sure what is the 2nd level eng.

That trailer is 31' long. It will be all your truck can control. Now if you are going to the local state parks and staying on back roads you will be fine. It is when you get on the highway and trying to stay at the speed limit that you might experiece sway. You might get pushed around some by semi trucks.

I think the weight is good because that trailer has a GVWR of around 7,500lbs. You truck can pull it but again 31 feet long with a truck that has a wheelbase of 153" is the max length you can tow. I think the guideline is 110" wheelbase needed to tow a 20 foot trailer. Then 4" additional wheelbase for every additional foot of trailer. So 31' is about the max length for your truck.

I do like the curved front cap to help with the areodynamics but remember you are towing a tall flat sided box and not a flatbed trailer with rebar.

I say pushing it but doable as built. I can't say what those tires are going to do without the original tire size listed on the truck.
That 6 inch lift is going to stress the hitch set up as well.

Might be OK on weights, check the payload; lift/tires and small engine are going to make a "less than stellar" towing experience especially with the OAL of that trailer.

I am confused, bone stock, but has 6" lift with 35" tires. Was the lift/tires from factory, or was it a dealer or other aftermarket modification? If it was from factory, the door label is useful. Otherwise, door label is for decoration only.

In 2022, Chevy offers a factory lift kit. It derates the payload from 1940 pounds to 1640 pounds.

The lift/tires bother me, otherwise I would put you on the edge of what the truck can tow.

I had one of those with the 5.3 and 3.42 and it struggled to tow our 28' 6000# travel trailer. if you have the 8 speed, maybe not too bad but if you have the 6 speed you may have trouble. mine never seemed to be in the right gear when towing and getting on the freeway with the trailer back there was often a nail biter. the gears are spread out and on hills, it loved 3500 rpm. I traded for a '19 ram 1500 5.7 4x4 ccsb with 8 speed and 3.92 gears and am happy camper. I think you will find that trailer to be a little long for that truck too. short trips off the interstate may be the best plan. those tires not a good combo with that tall rear end.

What wrong with the tires? They are nitto ridge grapplers 12ply load F?

The rear isn’t that tall it’s the angle my driveway slants down towards the road. I’m thinking about regearing. I was told 4.10 would do the trick.
