Painted steelies black, I think I like it

I have the stock 18" steelies on my truck painted silver. I painted them with black plastidip last year and that all peeled off. But I still liked the look of black wheels on my white truck. I went looking for new wheels and the ones I liked were $340 each. So I got 2 cans of rattle can paint and went at them. I like them now. The plastidip was too flat for my taste. I like this semi gloss and with the flat black center caps, they really pop well.

In a way, I am proud of my steelies because they are the strongest wheel of them all (I have no idea if they really are, but I heard that once).

So for $10, I think this will do just fine.

The last pic is my plan to get an extra 100hp and torques from the truck. I figure if I add ///M and AMG badges, it will go faster.

I think the black painted wheels add at least 50 ponies.

Much better! When the silver starts to rust they bring down the looks of a truck REALLY fast. You may have to re-paint yours in a few years but for $10 so what! Nice cheap mod!

You will definitely go faster with the ///M and AMG badges, but your repair costs will go up exponentially!

Looks great to me and the price is right!

Honestly, new wheels just for looks are the most ridiculous thing I could ever spend money on (notice I said, "I" - you can do whatever you want with your hard earned money). They do nothing for performance and you can't even see them once you're in the truck (unless you drive by a reflective window, I suppose). Better wheels and tires for performance or higher load rating? Absolutely. Throwing money at new wheels just to look better? I just don't get it.

$10 for a rattle can to do what OP did? Yeah, I'd go for that.

I like flames on the side to add 25HP myself. I grew up with brushed aluminum wheels so that look is in my DNA. I really don't like black wheels - like what is the purpose. But that is just me.

Also I do not have any tats.
