I'm curious. The weight of what we pull, and the type of RV we pull, dictates what we use. However, I'm curious as to how it's spread amongst the different size of tow vehicles. So, here's the poll question:

What is the rating class of your TV?

LDT = Light Duty Truck
MDT = Medium Duty Truck (Class 5 & 6)
HDT = Heavy Duty Truck (Class 7 & 8)

We use a E-350 Ford van with the v-10. Guess it is 1 ton.

I'd love to have an M2 or similar, but it'd be kind of a crummy daily driver.

Love the Dodge, though.

Wow, it looks like almost 2 out of 10 are using MDT's and HDT's, at this point in the survey. That's a little more than I thought. However, I expect the number is actually less out of everyone on the board . . . but I also expect that the number is growing.

My M2 is my daily driver. It is the same width as my old 1-ton dually, but three inches shorter. The M2 turns a lot sharper, has far better visibility, and is easier to drive. I used to park the 1-ton dually at the far corner of Wal-Mart. Now I park the M2 up front in a regular space.

Ah, it's not a matter of being a real truck. They're both real. It's just that one of them is a real big truck.

I have been using a 1 ton dooley crew cab since 96. My RV is only 1200 loaded. Its all that is needed for my TT with a harley in the bed. Well under the GCWR of the truck.

Every time the sales men try to tell me a 3/4 ton is all I need. However with a hitch weight of 1200 and a bike at close to 700 I would overload the GVWR of a 3/4 ton

I'm a little off in the voting area as well. As you can see, I tow with a one ton van. All the kids require the big van with big engine to tow big trailer to sleep all the kids. It's kind of circular in reasoning, but comes back to the same point.
